Business credit cards FAQs

Answers to common questions about business credit cards — how they work, who is eligible, and how Guavas helps you decide if one fits your business.

What is a business credit card?

A business credit card is a revolving credit facility a funder issues to your business for everyday spending, keeping business and personal finances separate. Guavas arranges the fit; Capital on Tap, our exclusive partner, issues the card.

Will applying affect my credit score?

Getting a quote from Guavas means no personal or business credit checks, and no impact on your personal or business credit score. If a business credit card is the right fit, we’ll explain Capital on Tap’s own application and any checks involved before you proceed.

What’s the difference between the Free and Pro plans?

The Free plan has no annual fee and includes 1% uncapped cashback, up to 42 days interest-free, and accounting integrations. The Pro plan is £299 a year and adds a premium metal card, unlimited airport lounge access, Avios at a 1:1 rate, and 1.25% cashback on preloaded spend.

Who is eligible?

The card suits UK-based private limited companies and LLPs trading for at least 12 months, with turnover of at least £24,000 a year and no unsatisfied CCJs against the business or applicant in the last 12 months.

How quickly can I start using the card?

Capital on Tap runs the application and decides it. If approved, a virtual card is available straight away and your physical card follows within 2 to 3 business days, according to Capital on Tap.

Can I give cards to my team?

Yes. The card comes with unlimited free employee cards, per-card spending limits, and real-time transaction tracking, all managed from one place. Give employee cards a sensible spending limit before you hand them out.

What does it cost, and how is Guavas paid?

Capital on Tap sets all card pricing, including any annual fee. A Guavas quote is free. Guavas is paid by the funder when you take out a product it has arranged. Full details are in our commission disclosure.
